DFPL Makerspace

Starting September 1st!

The Deptford Public Library is proud to introduce our new Makerspace! Makerspace is available by appointment only. No walk-in requests will be accommodated for our Makerspace.

To use the DFPL Makerspace all makers must:

  • Complete Makerspace Agreement
  • Go through required demos/trainings (if applicable)
  • Verify his/her identity with valid library card or photo ID
  • If patron is under 18, have parent/guardian sign off on approval to use the space and have parent/guardian present at all times during their use of Makerspace

Please note, only cash payments are accepted for the Makerspace!

Make buttons of various sizes using our button maker! Regular charges apply for printing button inserts at the library ($.15 for B&W, $.50 for color).

Pricing: 10 buttons for $2.00

Bind your stories, art, reports, presentations, and more together with our bookbinder. This book binder is simple and easy to use.

Pricing: $1.00 per binding

Create online content like the pros! This ring light holds your phone for you to make online content, including tutorials. Greenscreen is also available at request.

Make your ideas come to life using supplies from our art cart. This cart has basic tools in addition to some fun extras. Some supplies on the cart are available for you to use for a nominal fee.

Pricing:

  • $2.00/hr
  • Poster Board $1.00 per sheet
  • Card Stock $.50 per page

Print your design using our 3D printer! All designs must be created prior to making appointment. Please attach design in link format in form below or email .stl file to clarkr@deptfordpubliclibrary.org to make sure we can help you! For free files that work with our printer model please check out MakerWorld.

Requires certification from our Reference Librarian and completed safety agreement before use. Certification can take anywhere from 30-60 mins. If a patron does not meet the requirements for the safety certification by the end of 60 minutes, patrons will not be certified to use our 3D printer and must schedule another certification appointment.

Pricing:

  • $1.00/hr for black and white
  • $2.00/hr for special colors

Craft your heart out using our Cricut Maker 3! 12×12 and 12×24 mats available along with other tools you may need! Please note we do not currently have all blades/tips available, make sure to note which blade/tip you would like to use so we can try our best to accommodate you.

Must provide your own Vinyl and use your own Cricut account. Requires 15-30 minute demo from Reference Librarian and signed safety agreement.

Pricing:

  • $1.00/hr
