We’re sending a HUGE “Thank You!” to Miss Barb for joining our 3rd-5th grade summer reading session today! Miss Barb told us stories about her years working as a paleontologist in Montana where she was involved with uncovering the first dinosaur egg fossils found in the world as well as the first baby dinosaur fossils ever found. Miss Barb brought pictures from her years on the dig site and told us all about what it’s like to live on the site, including living in tents and how to get hot water for showers, not to mention the lack of bathroom facilities!
The kids (and adults too!) had the opportunity to examine and hold actual fossils from her collection, including fossilized dinosaur eggshells and fossilized amber complete with mosquito – just like in Jurassic Park! It’s safe to say we loved every minute of it! Keep your eye out for more info because Miss Barb is returning to the library for an adult dinosaur program this October!
